RIIRIS501E Implement and maintain management systems to control risk

This three day course covers the following topics: 

- Plan and prepare to develop the framework for the risk management system
- Develop the processes to support the risk management system
- Plan and implement the risk management system
- Monitor, review and update the risk management processes
 
Where a particfipant does not complete all tasks satisfactorily during the three days in the classroom they will be required to submit outstanding assessment tasks if they wish to receive a Statement of Attainment.  Participants have eight weeks from completion of the course to submit additional evidence.
 
Recommended Pre-requisites
To be eligible for the course participants should meet the following requirements:
 
  • Completed BSBWHS411 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs and BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS risk management or RIIRIS402E Carry out the risk management process or equivalent 
  • Working within the resources sector for a minimum of two years
  • Be at least 18 years old

To participate fully and to ensure the program is relevant to your role we ask that you bring a copy of your mines Safety Management Plan and Safety Policy.  You will also be asked to bring two site Principal Mining Hazard Plans from a list which will be sent to you on enrolment.

Classroom copies of the WHS Act and Regs are available for participants to use during the course.
