Just a quick note to thank you for your patience and persistence with me and to let you know of my progress over the last twelve months since completing Certificate 1V OH&S through Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) and Certificate 1V Training and Assessment (TAA) through flexible learning.

I think that the RPL process is a wonderful initiative as it recognises the practical experience gained through being proactive in your chosen field. Through your guidance in putting together my portfolio I was surprised just how much knowledge and experience that I had gained through my involvement in OH&S at the ground floor level. We tend to overlook the positive contribution and learning opportunity’s we have in our work place and when it is all put together in an organised manner we realise just how significant it can be.

The Flexible Learning process during the TAA allowed me to focus hard in your training room environment and then go back to work and complete the assignments in my spare time. I am grateful for your understanding and patients by adjusting / personalising the course to meet my learning style of one step at a time and building my understanding of the processes as I went along. I also enjoyed the laughs along the way with the crazy group we had. I really don’t know how you put up with us J

Since completing the Certificates twelve months ago I have had the good fortune to join a leading global engineering, construction and project management company dedicated to delivering quality service to their clients and development opportunities to their workforce.

"Combined Team Services (CTS) has provided Iluka Resources with exceptional service in the delivery of Metalliferous Mining qualifications to over 80 employees.  CTS developed a process that enabled individuals to achieve national qualifications through recognising workplace competence.  The qualification pathway that was developed guaranteed that employees were assessed to Iluka requirements (using our own plant) whilst meeting nationally endorsed standards. CTS is also responsible for the delivery of traineeships to new operators in the processing plants.

The personalised service and flexibility provided by CTS ensured the Metalliferous Mining project was a success. Cory (the trainer) would make regular visits to site sometimes on weekends and night shift, he worked separately with each person to cater for their individual needs.

CTS has also been involved in the delivery of leadership training to Iluka supervisors, we have consistently received very positive feedback from participants.   CTS's course schedule has enabled Iluka to send one or two participants to the training at a time, this has proved to be suited to our shift patterns and cost effective.
