Experience + Training Grants

As of July 1 2010 the Federal Government initiated an investment of $7.68 million over 4 years into Experience+Training. Grants are designed to help employers provide quality training for their mature age workers to provide effective mentoring, supervisor and other practical support to apprentices and trainees in the workplace. A mature age worker is considered 55 years old or over at the time of enrolment.

 

 

 

What is Experience + Training?

Experience + Training allows eligible employers to apply for $4,950 (GST inclusive), paid in two installments, to pay for, or contribute to, the cost of approved training for mature age workers. This funding must be used to pay for, or contribute to, the cost of a Certificate III (or above) level course for a mature age worker. The delivery of the qualification must be undertaken by a Registered Training Organisation. Remaining funds can be used for overheads associated with locating and supporting the mature worker to undertake the qualification.
